The Turn 3 Motorsport driver began the weekend with impressive pace, securing pole position for race one and putting himself in prime position to score valuable championship points. However, his race was derailed by an on-track incident that dropped him down the running order, ultimately leaving him with an eighth-place finish.

Starting fourth for race two, Escorpioni bounced back in a big way. The championship leader put together a strong drive through the field and ultimately crossed the finish line first, securing another victory and adding valuable points to his championship campaign.

The Portland weekend allowed Escorpioni to maintain his position at the top of the USF Pro 2000 standings as the championship battle continues to tighten.

“Portland was definitely a weekend of highs and lows,” says Leonardo. “Starting from pole in race one, we had everything in place for a strong result, so it was frustrating to get caught up in an incident and finish eighth. The team did an incredible job of resetting for race two, and starting fourth gave us a great opportunity to fight back. We were able to get the win, which is exactly what we needed for the championship. I'm really happy to leave Portland still leading the points, and now we'll keep working toward the next time we're back in the car."

Escorpioni will sit out the next USF Pro 2000 event on the Streets of Markham, Ontario, before returning to the championship for the following round at the Milwaukee Mile on August 29-30. The Milwaukee event will mark the second oval race of the 2026 USF Pro 2000 season and another important opportunity for Escorpioni to strengthen his championship position.

Despite the challenges faced in Portland, Escorpioni leaves the weekend with another victory and, most importantly, the championship lead still firmly in his hands.
