Brownsburg, IN – Jose Gutierrez, from Monterrey, Mexico, will join Juncos Racing again at Barber Motorsports Park’s official Pro Mazda Championship test next week.

Jose Gutierrez, 17, is fresh off a streak of four straight podium finishes in the LATAM Challenge Series. His other career highlights include winning the Rotax Mini Max Championship, the Mexican Grand National Championship, and winning the 2010 Martiga Driver Development School Shootout in Rotax karts. Gutierrez made his debut in the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires at the Circuit of Americas and joined Juncos Racing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, finishing in the Top-10 for both races.

“Barber Motorsport Park is a very interesting track with a lot of elevation changes and fast corners,” said Gutierrez. “I have never driven there before, but it seems to be a fun track. This test is going to be helpful for me to get adjusted to the car and understand how the car feels. I think it will be a successful test and very helpful in my learning. Juncos Racing is great and enjoyable to work with. They are always in a good mood and always ready to work. I am really looking forward to the test at Barber, to meet the drivers that I will be working with, and to learn more about the car.”

Juncos Racing Team Owner, Ricardo Juncos, is excited to have Gutierrez testing for Juncos Racing and hopes to have him racing more for the team in 2014.

“After having Jose competing with us at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, I’m very happy to have him back for the open test at Barber,” said Juncos. “He is one of the youngest drivers in the series and I really believe that he has a lot of potential and talent to become a great driver. I’m looking forward to working with him for this test, and hopefully for the 2014 season.”

The Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires will test December 9 and 10, 2013 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama and open the official season on March 29, 2014 at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. For more information visit juncosracing.com and promazdachampionship.com.
