  • M1 Racing: Bowlin Doubles as Pro Mazda Expert Class Winner

    After forgoing the two oval races on the 2013 schedule for the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires, the Dallas-based team fielded a car for Walt Bowlin of Tarpon Springs, Fla., in the Allied Building Products Grand Prix of Toronto doubleheader last weekend. Bowlin was the only driver entered in the Expert division in the doubleheader so he automatically came away with two victories for that class, which is for drivers over the age of 30. He is the defending champion in that division, and he won the Expert class in both races at Toronto last year as well.

  • Newcomer Nicolas Costa Scores Podium Finish for Team Pelfrey in Toronto

    Two 25-lap races for Team Pelfrey on the streets surrounding Exhibition Place in Toronto were highlighted by a fine podium finish on Saturday by series debutant Nicolas Costa. The 20-year-old from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, also crossed the line in third place on Sunday, only to be penalized for passing a lapped car while the yellow caution flags were flying.

  • Brabham Sweeps Allied Building Products Grand Prix of Toronto Weekend

    New engine, no problem for Matthew Brabham. The runaway leader in this year’s Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires was forced to run a fresh SpeedSource Mazda rotary engine in his #83 MAZDASPEED/Team Andretti Autosport entry after his engine was collected for a routine verification yesterday evening. It made no difference as the 19-year-old from Boca Raton, Fla., once again won convincingly this morning in the second leg of the Allied Building Products Grand Prix of Toronto.
