Birmingham, Ala. – Timothé Buret scored his second podium of the season this weekend at the Mazda Grand Prix of Alabama in what turned out to be another successful event for the young Frenchman in his rookie Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season.

The Juncos Racing driver qualified in the front row for the first race of the weekend and went on to have a race-long fight for the lead, eventually crossing the finish line in second position. He also went on to collect an additional championship point by turning the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1m21.547s.

The second event of the weekend saw Buret once again starting in the front row but during the start he was driven off the track by Weiron Tan and fell to the back of the field. The move eventually would cause Tan to receive a penalty by the Pro Mazda officials. During the race the rookie was able to fight his way back through the field and eventually crossed the finish line in the eight position. He now holds the sixth position in the championship with 73 points.

"Day one was fantastic and I was very happy to be on the podium. For me, second place is a very good for the championship points so I’m definitely pleased about that. Interesting may be the right word to describe race two, I don’t know what was going on with Weirion Tan, I don’t have much to comment on this but it was a shame that we got pushed to the back. I was able to take advantage of the re-starts to make a few passes and just trying to come back for points. I’m very motivated and I cannot wait for Indianapolis!"
