Petrov was chased home this morning by teammate Braden Eves who regained the championship lead after his closest rival, Rasmussen, was forced to start the race a couple of laps late after experiencing a spark plug problem on the pace laps. But Rasmussen bounced back magnificently in Round Seven, rising from third on the grid to the lead at the first corner and going on to score his third win of the season

A thrilling first of three races that will comprise the Indy Pro 2000 Grand Prix of Indianapolis Presented by Cooper Tires this afternoon saw Jay Howard Driver Development’s Christian Rasmussen, from Copenhagen, Denmark, cross the yard of bricks a scant 0.0713 of a second ahead of Braden Eves (Exclusive Autosport), from New Albany, Ohio

Following today’s announcement by organizers of the Honda Indy Toronto and INDYCAR that the July 9-11 event on the streets of Toronto has been cancelled due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in Ontario, Andersen Promotions has revised its 2021 calendar. The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will now host the season finale for the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires on October 1-3.

A semblance of normalcy is returning to the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires community this week in preparation for its traditional return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the month of May.

After knocking on the door of Victory Lane in each of the opening three races of the season, last year’s winner of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship overtook polesitter Hunter McElrea before driving away into the distance
