PITTSBORO, Ind. — TJ Speed Motorsports carried its Portland momentum north of the border last weekend, as Thomas Schrage turned in a pair of top-five finishes at the inaugural Streets of Markham, the newest addition to the USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire calendar. The event marked the series’ first-ever visit to the brand-new temporary street circuit, meaning every driver in the field arrived without prior laps of experience at the venue.

The weekend got off to a challenging start when the first of two scheduled practice sessions was canceled due to track build delays, as construction crews worked to finish preparing the new circuit for competition. With only a single practice session available to learn the layout, Schrage made the most of his limited track time, adapting quickly to the new circuit and posting the third-fastest time after setting the pace for the majority of the 20-minute session — an early sign that the #26 TJ Speed entry would be a threat all weekend.

Schrage carried that pace into race day. In Race 1, he started fifth and drove a smart, consistent race to finish exactly where he started, banking solid points on a circuit where track position and clean laps were at a premium. In Race 2, Schrage lined up fourth on the grid and once again showed strong pace throughout, crossing the line to finish third and earn a podium result to close out a productive doubleheader for the team.

Team owner Tim Neff praised Schrage’s quick adaptation to an unfamiliar circuit and the consistency he showed across both races.

“A new street circuit is always a challenge, but Thomas was up to speed quickly, proven by his practice speed,” explained TJ Speed Owner Tim Neff. “A solid couple of races, including a masterful defensive drive in the final two laps of Race 2, but now the focus shifts to our second and final oval event of the season, alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES at the Milwaukee Mile.”

With back-to-back top-five finishes now in hand at Markham, TJ Speed Motorsports turns its full attention to the Milwaukee Mile, where the team will run alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES for the second and final oval event of the 2026 season. The historic one-mile oval presents a very different test than the street circuits the team has recently tackled, and the team will look to translate its recent momentum into another strong result.

TJ Speed Motorsports will next compete August 28-29 at the Milwaukee Mile, sharing the bill with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.
