Team Pelfrey drivers Spencer Pigot and Anders Krohn overcame some difficulties to finish third and fourth in this evening’s 90-lap sixth round of the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires at the famed Milwaukee Mile. Both drivers were involved in a spirited tussle for second place around North America’s oldest purpose-built race track.

This evening’s sixth round of the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, held over 90 laps at the historic Milwaukee Mile, proved to be a virtual carbon copy of the previous oval race at Lucas Oil Raceway. Series leader Matthew Brabham, from Boca Raton, Fla., qualified his #83 MAZDASPEED/Team Andretti Autosport entry comfortably on the pole and then ran away to a dominant victory.

The on-going quest for Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires wins and valuable points resumes for JDC MotorSports on Friday (June 14), when the highly-regarded Mazda Road to Indy series travels to the historic Milwaukee Mile. With Zack Meyer, Juan Piedrahita, and Lloyd Read getting back behind the wheels, the three-time championship-winning squad will contest the second and final oval race on the series calendar, confident it can build on the experiences gained in the previous round and official series testing.

The Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires prepares for the second and final oval race of its 2013 season this week, joining the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights at the Milwaukee IndyFest for Round Six of the 16-race schedule.
