A dramatic first of three races that will make up the VP Racing Grand Prix of Indianapolis saw polesitter Ariel Elkin, from Haifa, Israel, score his maiden USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire victory today for TJ Speed Motorsports on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix road course.

A busy month of May for the USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire open-wheel development ladder continues this week, May 8-10, as the top two rungs, USF Pro 2000 and USF2000, convene at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix road course for the VP Racing Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

The battle for this year’s USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire title continues. The top two protagonists, Turn 3 Motorsport’s Alessandro de Tullio, from Miami, Fla., and Pabst Racing charge Max Garcia, from Coconut Grove, Fla., once again split the spoils today with a race win apiece.

After each claimed a victory in the opening rounds of the USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire season on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., Turn 3 Motorsport’s Alessandro de Tullio and Pabst Racing’s Max Garcia once again were the pair to beat in today’s opening race of a tripleheader event at NOLA Motorsports Park. It was Garcia who took the pole, but that wasn’t enough to prevent de Tullio, from Miami, Fla., from taking a hard-earned victory under a cloudless sky.

All three steps on the USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire open-wheel driver development ladder will be featured this week, April 10-13, at NOLA Motorsports Park.
