Alessandro de Tullio finishes second in Race 2, securing fourth in the drivers’ championship

PORTLAND, Ore. – Turn 3 Motorsport wrapped up the 2025 USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire championship with two competitive outings at Portland International Raceway, closing a season filled with personal bests and career milestones across the team’s driver roster. The highlight of the weekend came in the final race of the year, when 19-year-old Alessandro de Tullio drove to an impressive second-place finish in Race 2 at PIR.

The podium capped an outstanding rookie campaign for the Florida native, who secured fourth in the drivers’ championship in his first full season in the series after jumping straight from karting back into a racecar following a two-year absence from car racing. De Tullio’s 2025 tally included four wins, four pole positions and seven podiums, cementing his place as one of the standout newcomers of the year.

It was also a season of growth and achievement for the rest of the Turn 3 roster. Tyke Durst earned his career-best qualifying result of fifth at Mid-Ohio, matched his best race finish with two eighth-place results, and collected five top-10 finishes. Cooper Becklin scored a best qualifying of fifth at Mid-Ohio and a career-best second-place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, alongside eight top-10 finishes. Rookie Brady Golan joined the team partway through the season at IMS and impressed immediately, qualifying and finishing fifth at IRP in his first oval race. Together, the Turn 3 Motorsport drivers delivered consistency, resilience and multiple breakthrough performances across the 18-round championship.

Race 1 Recap
In Saturday’s Race 1, De Tullio lined up fourth on the grid and made a strong launch, but became boxed in behind a late-braking competitor, dropping him to seventh on the opening lap. Tyke Durst started 14th and slipped to 15th, while Cooper Becklin fell from ninth to 13th. Brady Golan held 12th in the opening laps.

By lap 12, Becklin had moved up to 12th past Golan, and Durst had regained 14th. De Tullio began to recover in the second half of the race, taking sixth from the #20 car of Michael Costello on lap 22. Meanwhile, Becklin climbed to 11th, Golan 12th, and Durst 13th following a late-race shuffle when two cars tangled ahead. Becklin ultimately crossed the line 11th, Golan 12th, Durst 13th and De Tullio sixth.

Race 2 Recap
The season finale saw De Tullio storm from fourth to second at the start, holding position through multiple restarts. Durst’s race began with an early trip through the runoff when a banner became stuck on his nose, forcing a quick pit stop, but he rejoined on the lead lap. Becklin and Golan benefitted from early attrition to run ninth and eighth, respectively.

A lap 8 caution bunched the field, but on the restart, Becklin was tagged from behind and spun, with Golan unable to avoid contact. Both rejoined after quick repairs, but dropped to 13th and 14th. Durst, meanwhile, climbed steadily through the field, taking eighth on the penultimate lap to match his best finish of the season. De Tullio maintained second to the checkered flag, earning one final podium to close out the year.

#44 Alessandro De Tullio // USF Pro 2000 Astropay
"It was a bit of a tough weekend here in Portland as we struggled to find the right balance in the car early on. The team put in a huge effort to keep improving, and that hard work paid off with a strong P2 finish to close out the season. Overall, it’s been a good year with some wins and podiums, though a few setbacks kept us from achieving even more. I’m still really happy with what we accomplished, and I want to give a huge thanks to the entire Turn 3 Motorsport crew for all of their hard work and dedication all year long."

#33 Tyke Durst // USF Pro 2000 Freight Handlers Inc. / Relay Payments / Drive Toward a Cure
"Finishing the year with some mixed results here in Portland. We had strong pace in practice, but unfortunately couldn’t translate that speed into qualifying or the races. Overall, it’s been a crazy year with plenty of ups and downs, but I’m proud of the progress we’ve made along the way. We’re already working hard behind the scenes to keep building on those improvements and show what we can really do in the future."

#2 Cooper Becklin // USF Pro 2000 Helmet House
"The season is all wrapped up here in Portland, and while it wasn’t our weekend in terms of results, I still learned a lot. Being able to race at my home track was special, and I wish we could have brought home more for the team. The experience this year has been invaluable and will help me keep pushing forward in my career. I especially want to thank my mechanic Matthew McComish, my engineer Kevin Eichler, Peter and Mandy Dempsey, and the entire Turn 3 Motorsport team for their hard work and support all season long. I’m looking forward to taking what we’ve learned and coming back even stronger."

#3 Brady Golan // USF Pro 2000
"Honestly, I’m pretty sad the season is already over. I joined the program late and only competed in half the rounds, but I’m so thankful for the time I had with this team. Peter and Mandy took such great care of everyone, even with me coming in as the new guy. There were weekends where we had strong results and weekends where it was more about learning, but each one gave me more knowledge than I expected. I’ve never been part of a group where everyone got along so well, and I really enjoyed being in that kind of environment. The effort from the whole team was incredible, and it was amazing to see that work turn into results."

Team Owner, Peter Dempsey
“2025 was definitely a crazy year for us. We started the season strongly at St. Pete and NOLA, and Alessandro (de Tullio) showed early on that he has the pace to compete at the front and challenge for championships. Tyke (Durst), Brady (Golan) and Cooper (Becklin) all made gains at different points throughout the season, each improving on where they were at this time last year. Although we didn’t win the team or drivers’ championship, we certainly grew as a team, and that growth will make us all stronger heading into 2026. Our fight and determination to reclaim the drivers’ championship will be there, and we’re looking forward to working toward that goal through our post-season testing and into next year.

“A huge thanks goes to every single person who has been part of our program this year—especially our crew. None of this would be possible without the people who make up our team. A special mention to my wife and business partner, Mandy Dempsey, who somehow manages to keep everything together and make sure we have what we need heading into every single event. On to 2026!”

The 2025 USF Pro 2000 Championship presented by Continental Tire season concludes with Turn 3 Motorsport celebrating multiple milestones and ready to build on its momentum heading into next year’s campaign. The team now looks forward to off-season testing with drivers in preparation for the 2026 season and will return for official series testing at the USF Pro Championships Fall Combine at Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the end of October.
