Escorpioni records pair of top-five finishes as team tops Milwaukee Mile test
ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Turn 3 Motorsport battled through a challenging doubleheader weekend at Road America, where Leonardo Escorpioni led the team with a pair of fifth-place finishes in Rounds 6 and 7 of the USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire season. While the team faced an uphill battle to find the pace it had shown in recent events, Escorpioni's consistent results helped maintain his third-place position in the Drivers Championship, while Michael Costello added valuable points in both races before the team immediately shifted its focus to the Milwaukee Mile for Monday's official series test.
Despite the difficulties encountered throughout the weekend, Turn 3 Motorsport leaves Road America still leading the Team Championship standings as the season approaches its halfway point. Escorpioni remains third in the championship battle, while Costello sits fifth following seven rounds of competition.
Escorpioni led the way for the team throughout the weekend, qualifying fifth and third for the two races before recording a pair of fifth-place finishes. In Saturday's opening race, the USF Juniors Champion moved into fourth position early and remained in the fight near the front throughout multiple caution periods before ultimately securing another top-five result. Sunday's second race followed a similar pattern, with Escorpioni running inside the top five throughout the event to collect valuable championship points.
Costello rebounded from a difficult qualifying session to move forward in both races. After starting 12th in each event, the #2 machine climbed as high as sixth in Race 1 before securing an eighth-place result, while Sunday's race saw Costello once again battle through the field to secure additional points and remain firmly in the championship hunt.
While the weekend presented its share of challenges, both Durst and Manson continued to battle throughout the doubleheader. Durst recovered from an early trip through the gravel in Race 1 to remain on the lead lap and complete both races, while Manson rebounded from a difficult opening race to secure a top-10 finish in Sunday's event.
Following the Road America doubleheader, Turn 3 Motorsport headed directly to the Milwaukee Mile for Monday's official series test. The team immediately established itself at the top of the timing sheets, as Costello recorded the fastest overall lap of the day and Escorpioni finished second to give Turn 3 Motorsport the two quickest times of the test.
Brady Golan, who missed the Road America doubleheader due to a scheduling conflict, returned to the team's USF Pro 2000 program fresh off a dominant Formula Regional Americas weekend at Indianapolis, where he collected three victories. Golan immediately returned to form at Milwaukee, posting the third-fastest time in the opening test session before ending the day fourth overall.
The encouraging results from Milwaukee provide momentum heading into Mid-Ohio, where Turn 3 Motorsport will continue its pursuit of both the Drivers and Team Championships during the Fourth of July weekend.

“Two top-fives isn’t the weekend we were dreaming about, but Road America is a circuit that punishes any small mistake and the competition at the front of this field is fierce. We showed the pace to run with the leaders all weekend, and leaving here third in the championship keeps us very much in this fight. We’re focused on Mid-Ohio and turning those fifth-place results into podiums.”

“This past weekend at Road America could’ve definitely been better, but with all things set aside, it could’ve been way worse. I’m extremely thankful for the entire team’s effort this week and for minimizing the damage. The test at Milwaukee was perfect from start to finish and allowed us to set the benchmark. I’m excited for Mid-Ohio, especially coming off a high note from Milwaukee. Let’s go hunt down some wins.”

“Road America was a difficult weekend for us, and the results weren't quite what we were hoping for. That said, we're already looking ahead to Mid-Ohio. It's one of my favorite tracks on the schedule, and I always enjoy being there over the Fourth of July weekend. I'm looking forward to getting back on track and putting together a stronger result.”
#3 Tyke Durst // USF Pro 2000 FHI
“It was looking really good this weekend at Road America until it wasn’t. We had good pace in testing and practice, but unfortunately things didn’t go our way for the rest of the weekend. Thankfully in Race 1 I was able to recover from the gravel trap and work my way back forward, but in Race 2 a shifting issue took us out of contention for another decent result. With challenges come opportunities to learn and improve, and we’ll show up to Mid-Ohio stronger.”
#44 Brady Golan // USF Pro 2000 Marina
“While I was disappointed to miss the USF Pro 2000 weekend at Road America, I was able to stay sharp by competing in Formula Regional Americas at Indianapolis and coming away with three wins. It was great to jump right back into the Turn 3 Motorsport car on Monday for the Milwaukee test and pick up where we left off. We worked through a lot of valuable items, learned quite a bit, and I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum into Mid-Ohio over the Fourth of July weekend.”
Team Owner, Peter Dempsey
“It was a weekend where we expected to be better. he test ahead of the race weekend went well for us as did the pre-event practices. When it came to the races, we just didn’t have the pace to fight with the leaders. Leo (Escorpioni) did well to maximize the weekend with two top-five finishes, and Michael (Costello) did the same. It was always going to be hard for Michael having missed the test days here. The team put in a huge effort and we are grateful for that. The Milwaukee test went well on Monday which lifted up the team after a tough weekend. Now we are fully focused on bouncing back for Mid-Ohio next weekend. It’s a massive weekend being a triple-header event for us, so we are ready to come back strong and keep the championship fight going.”
The USF Pro 2000 Championship returns to action July 2-5 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for a triple-header race weekend where Turn 3 Motorsport will look to build on its strong showing at the Milwaukee Mile and continue its pursuit of both the Drivers and Team Championships.
