American up-and-comer Neil Alberico started his rookie Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires campaign with two solid outings over the weekend (March 29-30) on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Fla. Piloting a race entry for series newcomers Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing, the Californian exited the season-opening doubleheader with valuable points and experience via two top-10 finishes.

The start of the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season proved to be a mixed affair for JDC MotorSports this weekend (March 29-30), with the three-time series champion ultimately taking home precious championship points via a top-five and a pair of top-10 finishes. Kyle Connery led the four-car effort, securing a hard fought fifth place in the first round of the season-opening twin bill, while rookie Ryan Booth added a pair of top-10 results on the Streets of St. Petersburg.

Juncos Racing dominated the opening weekend of the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires with Spencer Pigot claiming the first two wins and teammate Kyle Kaiser finishing second in Rounds 1 and 2 of the Allied Building Products Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Juncos Racing takes the early lead in both driver and team points.

There were plenty of positives for Team Pelfrey when the new Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season began with a pair of races as part of the Allied Building Products Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

M1 Racing's Jay Horak of Mesa, Ariz., had a whopping 4.7258 seconds advantage over Bobby Eberle when he posted his second Expert class victory in less than 24 hours Sunday morning in Pro Mazda action at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
